Do you know where your master water shut-off valve is in your
home? If you’re not home, do other family members know where
your water shut-off valve is? Do they know how to shut the water
off in an emergency?
Sometimes water pipes inside the home leak or break. Hot water
heaters may burst, toilets may leak - unfortunately it’s a fact of life.
If your toilets and hot water heaters have individual shut-off valves,
that’s great, be sure all family members know how to use them and
be sure the valves work properly.
What if a water pipe ruptures in your home or if your toilets and hot
water heaters don’t have their own shut-off valve? A master shutoff
valve can make a big, big difference. If a water pipe breaks or a
water fixture ruptures, knowing where your master water shut-off
valve is and getting the master water valve shut down right away
can help avert a major catastrophe and help keep your repairs and
clean-up simple.
It’s important to know where your water-shut-off valve is located!
If in doubt, you may wish to have a plumber check it out.
We hope you never have a water pipe break or a hot water heater
burst, but if it does, you will want to know where your master shutoff
valve is, so you can minimize your damages and clean-up time.
